Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 19, 2026

PewPew Cards ("PewPew Cards," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your information.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you create an account or use the Service, you may provide information such as:

  • Username
  • Display name
  • Email address
  • Profile picture (if applicable)
  • Country (if you choose to set it)
  • Collection information
  • Trade lists
  • Wish lists
  • Favorite sets and collected characters
  • Sketch cards you like
  • Your email and privacy preferences, including whether your email address is shown to other users
  • Discord account information (if linked), including your Discord user ID, username, display name, and avatar
  • Any information you choose to include in your profile
  • Sketch card images you upload, including card backs
  • Images you submit to the artist identification tool

We also keep a record of when you accepted our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, and which version you accepted.

Information Collected Automatically

We may automatically collect information including:

  • Browser type
  • Operating system
  • Device type
  • IP address
  • Pages visited
  • Time and date of requests
  • The referral link you arrived from, if you followed one of our partner or campaign links
  • eBay links you click, including the search terms and, if you are signed in, your account identifier
  • Error logs
  • Security logs

This information helps us operate, secure, and improve the Service.

Authentication Information

If you sign in using Google or another authentication provider, we receive information that the provider shares with us, which may include:

  • Your unique account identifier
  • Your email address
  • Your display name
  • Your profile picture

We do not receive your password.

Sketch Card Images and Artist Identification

When you upload a sketch card back, we automatically detect and crop the artist's signature and store that cropped image with your sketch. We use these signature crops only to help identify artists.

When anyone uses the artist identification tool, the image they submit is analyzed by an AI service to read the signature. If the signature is hard to read, it is compared against signature crops from sketch card backs already on the Service, including sketches marked private. Signature crops from private sketches are never shown to other users; a lookup only returns suggested artist names and card backs from public sketches.

Images submitted to the artist identification tool are processed to return results and are not saved to your collection or the sketch gallery.

We remove embedded photo metadata, such as camera location, from images you upload.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide the Service
  • Maintain your collection
  • Match users for potential trades
  • Suggest which artist drew a sketch card
  • Authenticate your account
  • Send the emails you have opted into
  • Respond to support requests
  • Understand which referral links and features are used
  • Improve features
  • Monitor performance
  • Detect fraud or abuse
  • Protect the security of the Service

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Legal Bases for Processing

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region whose laws require a legal basis for processing personal information, we rely on the following:

  • Performance of a contract: to create and run your account, store your collection, sketches, and lists, match trades, and provide the features you use.
  • Consent: to send news emails and notification emails, to show your email address to other users, and to link your Discord account. You can withdraw consent at any time in your account settings or through the unsubscribe link in any email, without affecting processing that happened before.
  • Legitimate interests: to keep the Service secure, prevent abuse (including rate limits and bot protection), fix errors, measure how features and referral links are used, operate the artist identification tool, and earn affiliate commissions that help pay for the Service. We balance these interests against your rights and keep this processing limited.
  • Legal obligation: where we must keep or disclose information to comply with the law.

4. Sharing Your Information

We may share information only in the following circumstances:

Public Information

The following information may be visible to other users:

  • Username
  • Display name
  • Country (if you set it)
  • Collection statistics
  • Collected characters and favorite sets
  • Trade lists
  • Wish lists
  • Profile picture
  • Linked Discord account (if you choose to link it)
  • Your email address, only if you set Email Visibility to Public (it is private by default)
  • Sketch cards you mark as public

If your profile is set to private, other users cannot view your profile or collection.

Service Providers

We use trusted third-party providers to operate the Service, including:

  • Cloud hosting, storage, logging, and performance monitoring (Google Cloud)
  • Authentication providers (Google Firebase Authentication)
  • AI image analysis (Google Gemini on Vertex AI), which reads and compares sketch card signatures, including signature crops from private sketches as described above
  • Bot and abuse protection (Google reCAPTCHA), which may receive your IP address and information about your browser when you use certain features without signing in

These providers process data on our behalf only as needed to provide their services.

Affiliate Links

Links to eBay on the Service are affiliate links through the eBay Partner Network. When you follow one, eBay receives the search terms and a tracking code identifying PewPew Cards, and we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. We do not send eBay your name, email address, or account details. eBay's use of information is governed by its own privacy policy.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law or if we believe disclosure is necessary to:

  • comply with legal obligations
  • protect our rights
  • investigate fraud
  • protect users or the public

5. Third-Party Services

PewPew Cards may integrate with services such as:

  • Google
  • Discord
  • Ko-fi
  • eBay

These services have their own privacy policies and terms of service. Use of Google reCAPTCHA is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

We encourage you to review those policies before linking your accounts.

6. Cookies

We use cookies or similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in
  • Remember preferences
  • Improve performance
  • Maintain security

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Third parties such as Google reCAPTCHA and eBay may set their own cookies when you use their features or follow their links.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling them may affect the functionality of the Service.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information, collection, lists, and sketches for as long as your account remains active or as necessary to provide the Service.

Server, error, and security logs and performance traces, which can include your account identifier, IP address, pages visited, and eBay search terms, are kept for about 30 days and then deleted automatically.

Signature crops are kept for as long as the associated sketch remains on the Service. To prevent abuse, we keep short-lived usage counters for the artist identification tool, tied to your account or to a one-way hash of your IP address; these are deleted automatically within about a day.

We may retain certain information for a reasonable period after account deletion to:

  • comply with legal obligations
  • resolve disputes
  • enforce our agreements
  • maintain backups
  • protect against fraud

8. Sketch Cards, Linked Accounts, and Account Deletion

Sketch Cards

Sketch cards you upload become part of the community sketch gallery. If you upload a sketch without marking it as yours, it is shown without your username, but we keep a record that your account uploaded it. If you remove a sketch you own from your collection, it is removed from the gallery; the image files may remain in our storage for a period afterward.

Linked Accounts

When you unlink your Discord account, we delete the Discord user ID, username, display name, and avatar we stored for it.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account by contacting us.

When your account is deleted:

  • personal account information will be removed or anonymized where practical
  • collection and trade data associated with your account will be removed from active use
  • backups may retain information for a limited period before being overwritten

9. Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information.

However, no method of transmitting or storing data is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

PewPew Cards is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction).

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age.

If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to remove it.

11. International Users

PewPew Cards is operated from the United States, and our service providers store and process data in the United States and other countries.

If you access the Service from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may not have the same data protection laws as your country. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which our cloud provider (Google) has adopted for data it processes on our behalf.

12. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

  • Access your information.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, including processing based on our legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
  • Request a copy of your personal information in a portable format where required by law.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first, so please contact us.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

When significant changes are made, we will update the Effective Date and may notify users through the Service.
